HISTORY

Hanoi Urban Planning Institute - the State Owned Enterprise under the administration of HPC - has its legal entity, a stamp and a bank account for its legal operation. In addition, it is under the instructions by MOC and by related Departments in the field of urban planning.
Established in 1962, HUPI has been taking an important role in Hanoi’s urban planning works since the last 50 years. Up to present day, it has a strong human resource, including skilled Architects and Engineers, who contribute to scientific researches, optimize land use plan, technical infrastructure plan and urban design; HUPI also consults HPC in the field of urban management for Hanoi.
HUPI has sucessfully implemented its plans to improve the imagery of Hanoi.

In 1989	Hanoi Urban Design and Planning Institute, under the administration of Hanoi Department of Construction
In 1992	Hanoi Urban Design and Planning Institute, under the administration of Chief Architect Agency
In 1997	Renamed as Hanoi Urban Planning Institute, under the administration of Hanoi Department of Architecture and Planning
